Santos Supports Regional Students Through CUC North West Partnership

The Country Universities Centre (CUC) North West has once again received generous support from Santos, helping local students pursue their university studies without having to leave their communities.

Through the Santos Bursary Program, several CUC North West students were  awarded scholarships earlier this year, recognising their commitment to study, community involvement, and future career goals. A special presentation event was held at the CUC North West Narrabri centre, where recipients were joined by CUC staff and Santos representatives to celebrate their achievements. The ongoing support from Santos will help more students in 2026.

Supporting Regional Futures

The Santos Bursary Program aims to reduce barriers to higher education for regional students, assisting with costs such as textbooks, technology, and travel for residential study sessions. This partnership reflects Santos’ ongoing commitment to supporting education, skills development, and career opportunities across regional New South Wales.

By partnering with CUC North West, Santos helps ensure that university students living in the Narrabri and surrounding districts have access to the resources, mentoring, and support they need to succeed in their studies — without the need to relocate to major cities.

The bursary recipients represent a wide range of study areas, from education and health to business and science. Each student shared how studying locally at CUC North West allows them to balance work, family, and study while staying connected to their communities.

CUC North West Manager Shayne Miller expressed gratitude for the partnership, saying:

“Support from organisations like Santos makes a real difference for our students. It not only eases financial pressure but shows that local industries value and invest in the next generation of regional professionals.”
