Our Story

CUC North West is a community-owned, not-for-profit organisation established to increase access to higher education across North West New South Wales.

Officially opened in July 2019, CUC North West was created through the support of local councils, government partners and community leaders who recognised the need for greater educational opportunities in regional communities.

Today, we support students from Moree, Narrabri and surrounding communities who are studying with universities and higher education providers across Australia.

Our organisation is governed by a local Board of Directors, ensuring that our priorities reflect the needs, aspirations and opportunities of the communities we serve.

Our Vision

A North West where everyone has the opportunity to pursue higher education, achieve their goals and contribute to thriving regional communities.

Our Mission

To create opportunities through higher education that empower individuals while contributing to a vibrant, diverse and prosperous North West.

Why We Exist

We know that regional people face challenges accessing higher education that many metropolitan students do not.

Distance, relocation costs, work commitments and family responsibilities can all become barriers to participation.

We exist to reduce those barriers and provide local support that helps students succeed while remaining connected to their communities.

Our role is not simply to provide a place to study. It is to create opportunities that enable people to learn, grow and build meaningful careers in the region they call home.

Community-Owned, Regionally Focused

Everything we do is grounded in the belief that local communities are stronger when local people have access to opportunity.

As a community-led organisation, we are committed to supporting educational participation, workforce development and regional prosperity across the North West.
